National Marathon Here We Come…….

We are gearing up for our first Team Fight event of the year – National Marathon in Washington, DC next Saturday, March 26, 2011. We’ll have a group of folks out there representing the organization through the full marathon, half marathon and the corporate relay. The corporate relay is interesting at National; it’s a half relay with 3 legs with the distances being, 5 miles, 5 miles and 3.1 miles.

All three courses begin at RFK Stadium and takes runners alongside the National Mall where they will pass the Capitol Building, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Monument, in addition to the historic Smithsonian museums and sculpture garden.   Runners will then run by the White House and turn north on 18th Street.

As they head north through the Adams Morgan district the course will brings participants by both Howard University and Trinity College with some of the most inspiring of the course’s many cheering stations.

Turning back south on North Capitol Street brings in a stunning view of the Capitol Building for over a mile before half marathoners head back east towards their finish. Full marathoners continue on and revisit some of the beautiful National Mall buildings before heading south along the river and past the Washington Nationals Ballpark. There are a few more miles on the Anacostia Riverwalk trail before heading back across the river to the finish line at RFK Stadium.

We are very excited for next Saturday and for the first time Team Fight will race in 2011!  We’ll be celebrating after the race with the crew down in Capitol City……and then look forward to our next race to help young adults affected by cancer!

The National Marathon kicks off the first race in Team Fight's schedule of events!
