Hope Lodge

I have many different projects that I am working on here at Ulman. Out of all of my projects, one of my favorites is getting volunteers for Hope Lodge. What is Hope Lodge?? I’m glad you asked!

Hope Lodge is affiliated with the American Cancer Society. American Cancer Society Hope Lodges provide free lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers. Hope Lodge creates an environment that eases both the stress of the cancer journey and the financial challenges of receiving cancer treatment. They offer many programs and evening activities for the patients and their guests. One of the most popular programs is the Dinners for Hope.

The Dinners for Hope program is where community organizations can come into Hope Lodge and volunteer their time to cook dinner for the guests at Hope Lodge. After the volunteers cook the dinner, they get to enjoy the wonderfully cooked meal with the guests.

The Ulman Cancer Fund has been volunteering at Hope Lodge in Baltimore, MD to give back to the community and to connect with the guests while they are going through their cancer journey. We volunteer with the Dinners for Hope program every fourth Wednesday of every month. We get to connect with the patients and offer our support to them as well as to their caregivers during their cancer treatment.

Next Wednesday, January 26th, the team here at The Ulman Cancer will be going to Hope Lodge in Baltimore to cook dinner. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please contact me! It only takes a few hours of your time and you help many individuals who are fighting against cancer. It’s a great time with great people!
