Finishing off Columbia Triathlon Weekend with a BANG!!!

The first triathlon of the season, Columbia Tri, turned out to be a HUGE success for Team Fight this past weekend.  We had a total of 52 official racers, with about 10 others sporting our hard to miss YELLOW gear!

Some of the highlights from the weekend…

  • To date Team Fight has raised $100,000 with just 2 events thus far!
  • We have a total of 260 participants overall!
  • Over 60 people representing TEAM FIGHT this weekend at Columbia!

It’s about PEOPLE! -

  • Laura Allred, Sara Prymas, and Aimee Becker completed their first Olympic distance race!
  • Meg Shipman completed her first tri EVER and was featured as a front line story in Columbia Patch! http://bit.ly/iQrkHq
  • Kristin Johnson, UCF Staff Member, placed 3rd in Athena!
  • Michael Silverman and his relay team placed 3rd!
  • Dane Jeeter and Meg Shipman both got a flat and finished the race with flying colors and smiles!
  • Nic Ebright worked on 20+ Team Fighters at the official sports massage table in the Team Fight tent!
  • A Cancer to 5k 2010 Finisher, Faith Courville, participated in a relay for the running portion!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible! Everyone from participants, board members, and UCF staff were rock stars and we couldn’t do what we do with you all!
